Parent & Player Information Pack + Hire Agreement

SOCCERBEE GPS

1. Program overview

Salisbury International Soccer Club (SISC) is introducing GPS tracking technology for the Women and Girls high performance program, as part of its commitment to player development, performance monitoring and player welfare.

GPS trackers provide objective data that supports:

  • Individual player development
  • Training and match load management
  • Recovery monitoring
  • Injury prevention and return to play decisions

Each participating player will be issued a GPS tracker for the duration of the season. These devices remain the property of SISC at all times and are provided under a hire arrangement.

Participating Teams

  • Junior Girls: U13, U14, U15, U16 Youth Premier League (YPL)
  • Women’s National Premier League (WNPL) Seniors
(Reserves players are able to purchase a unit at a heavily discounted price)

Benefits to players include understanding workload, tracking progress over time and making informed decisions about training intensity and wellbeing.

This program reflects SISC’s commitment to creating a professional, development-focused environment and supporting long-term player growth.

2. Equipment ownership and value

  • All GPS units are owned by Salisbury International Soccer Club, Women and Girls
  • Each unit has a Retail Recommended Price (RRP) of $175.
  • The annual subscription cost of $105 per unit is fully covered by the club.
  • Units are issued to participating players for the season and must be returned at season’s end or upon request.
  •

3. Education and onboarding session

All players issued with a GPS tracker must attend a compulsory onboarding session covering:

  • How to correctly wear the unit and vest
  • Charging requirements
  • Uploading session data
  • What the data is used for (and what it is not used for)
  • Player responsibilities and care expectations

This session ensures all players understand both the technical use and development purpose of the system.

4. Functionality and data use

The GPS tracker:

  • Records movement data such as distance, speed and workload
  • Is worn during training sessions and matches as directed by coaching staff
  • Does NOT record audio or video
  • Does NOT provide live location tracking outside football activities

Data is used solely for:

  • Player development and performance analysis
  • Training and match load management
  • Injury prevention and return to play monitoring

Data may be reviewed by coaching and technical staff to support training decisions. Players are expected to cooperate with data collection as part of SISC’s women and girls high-performance environment.

Only authorised SISC staff may access this information in accordance with privacy obligations.

5. Player responsibilities

Participating players issued with a GPS tracker are expected to:

  • Look after the device at all times
  • Charge the unit before every training session and match
  • Wear the unit at every training session and match (unless instructed otherwise)
  • Upload data after every session in a timely manner
  • Ensure the unit is worn correctly in the approved vest
  • Bring the tracker to all required sessions

These expectations form part of Salisbury Inter’s professional YPL / WNPL training environment.

6. Care requirements

Players are responsible for day-to-day care of their tracker, including:

  • Charging as required
  • Keeping the device clean and stored safely
  • Using only for its intended purpose

The tracker must NOT be:

  • Modified or tampered with
  • Used by another player
  • Exposed to excessive heat, water immersion or impact
  •

7. IMPORTANT: Water, washing and damage warning

GPS units are NOT waterproof

  • Units must NEVER be put in the washing machine
  • Exposure to heavy rain, washing, or soaking can permanently damage the device
  • Any unit destroyed due to washing or water damage will be treated as player responsible damage

For wet weather sessions:

  • Waterproof bags will be made available by the club
  • Players are expected to use these when required

8. Charging requirements

Players must ensure the GPS tracker is:

  • Fully charged before every session
  • Charged only using approved equipment

Failure to charge the device may result in inability to participate in GPS monitored sessions.

9. Technical support

If a tracker is not functioning correctly:

  • Notify SISC staff as soon as possible
  • Do NOT attempt to repair or open the device

SISC will assess the issue and provide a replacement where appropriate.

10. Warranty

Trackers are covered by manufacturer warranty for faults arising from normal use.

Warranty does NOT cover:

  • Accidental damage
  • Water damage
  • Loss or theft
  • Damage caused by misuse or neglect
  •

11. Loss, damage and replacement costs

Players are financially responsible for units that are lost, stolen, or damaged due to misuse or neglect.

Replacement costs:

  • Replacement standard vest: $55
  • Replacement X-Vest: $60

Normal wear and tear will be assessed by the club on a case-by-case basis.

All GPS trackers must be returned to SISC at the end of the season or upon withdrawal from the program in reasonable working condition (allowing for fair wear and tear).

Failure to return equipment may result in replacement fees.
